DOW JONES & COMPANY, INC. 10:01 AM ET 5/26/2017
1401 GMT - Oil prices have had a rough week, but the correlation between the oil price and the S&P 500 continues to ease, according to analysts at Brown Brothers Harriman. In the first quarter of 2016, the correlation reached almost 0.60, they say, but has been trending lower over the last two months and now is near 0.18. "Based on current correlations, investors in the S&P 500 should not put much weight on the direction of oil," they conclude.(riva.gold@ wsj.com)
