I agree $200K for a RentMotoPed franchise business is excessive. I don't think they will get too many people hitting them up for that cost and what they are offering for it. However, the new partners seem very committed to making the franchise business happen, there is no doubting that. And once they get enough feedback and discover that they've priced the franchise start up costs too high for potential franchisees, they can always reassess and adjust the price down.

If it were me starting off with this, I would initially sell the bikes, equipment and infrastructure to franchisees for around break even cost for more people to BE in the ballpark of being able to afford a franchise and to make it worth their while. And then charge a very modest one time start up franchise license cost of say $10,000. Then beyond that, at the very least the company will BE getting the MotoPed brand name out there with more exposure from more franchises opening and also from the benefit of more new bike sales through the franchise vendors.

So they should BE able to sell these start up franchises for under $75K I would think, when you break it all down.

Anyway, this can turn out to BE a success if it is done right and they (the new partners) are smart about the whole franchise business plan. And I would say there could BE a very good chance of that. Just my thoughts and considerations. smile
