Allan Lichtman on Possible Impeachment Proceedings Against President Trump Allan Lichtman talked about his latest book, The Case for Impeachment, in which laid out a case for impeaching President Trump. In this interview he discussed the president’s previous-week firing of FBI Director James Comey. In his comments he also said, “People think of impeachment as this apocalyptic event” when in fact the framers of the Constitution put it in as the “ultimate safeguard.” He explained how the impeachments of Presidents Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon, and Bill Clinton were good for the country.

Professor Lichtman, who has correctly predicted presidential elections since 1984, predicted in the fall of 2016 that Donald Trump would win the 2016 presidential election.
