Austrian energy company OMV (OTC:OMVJF) agrees to acquire a ~25% stake in the Yuzhno Russkoye natural gas field located in western Siberia from Germany's Uniper for ~€1.75B ($1.85B).
OMV CEO Rainer Seele says the acquisition builds a new core area in Russia for the company and adds 100K boe to its production portfolio.
Uniper operates in the field through a joint venture with Russia's Gazprom (OTCPK:OGZPY) and Germany's Wintershall.
