May 10-It wasn't hot, it was just real warm. More of the same Thursday and rain likely Friday into Saturday. I called Jerry this morning and got an order for 8 lettuce. He wants it early, so I have to start early so I can make it to his apartment on N. Tryon by 9:30, maybe earlier.
Rico drove onto to property this morning and I cajoled him into a ride to Bobby's stable. I put two 5 gallon buckets with lids in the truck bed and off we went. Now Rico knows where the stable is located. Walking back to the bus stop wasn't as much a chore as I figured. I had the intention of taking the bus for a second trip but by the time I got onto the sidewalk the 13 was passing me by.
So I went back to other tasks. Six more pepper plants, all Fatalli. The Peach Habanero are next, with 6. I can tell the difference in the morphology of the leaves. But the planting comes tomorrow morning after I return from Jerry's apt.
I sowed more acorn squash seed, more cuke seed. I bought two packets of slicing variety called Muncher last week when I was at the Dollar General for cat food.
The Moon & Stars watermelon seedlings are looking better. My first zucchini squash hill now has 3 plants with a second set of true leaves. And the Japanese Long Purple eggplants have produced flower buds. Maybe they'll make it.
Old Cadillacs never die. The finance company take 'em and faaaaade 'em away.
