But what about the DSMB? Why did the DSMB not stop the phase 3 earlier? Based on the communicated results there seem to be no reason to run the study until event 512!

This is a miracle. I have seen a lot of studies which have been terminated upon DSMB recommendation.

Here: there is no difference between both arms, zopt and dox. The DSMB must have seen it long before.
