May 3-A slight chill in the air this morning. It will warm into the 70s later this afternoon. Rain is forecast for Thursday, Friday, then an even cooler weekend. Blackberry Winter.

This morning I will wash up 10 heads of heirloom lettuce to take to Jerry. I didn't give up on him entirely. I kept calling until he finally responded.

Last night I brought home a head of Little Gem lettuce. It's still at peak condition. And delicious. Blackberry Winter will keep all the heads in peak condition a while longer.

All the Rosa Bianca eggplants are in the ground, a total of 36. About 30 peppers are still in the greenhouse, along with the asparagus, some basil, and about a dozen toothache plants.

I will dig up more soil on the ledge and sow Marketmore 76 cuke seed I've kept since 2014. Will they still be viable? Only one way to find out.

I've pulled all the Black Seeded Simpson lettuce plants except for two, and kept one in the bed to go to seed. Maybe Dreama can take an image of it.

Old Cadillacs never die. The finance company take 'em and faaaaade 'em away.
