May 2-I wake up, look out the window and the first thought was, it looks chilly. The TV forecast I clicked to predicts overnight lows in the 40s later this week. Setting out more eggplant and pepper starts doesn't make sense. So in the greenhouse they will remain until the weather returns to seasonal.

Meanwhile, there is still plenty to do. I will make melon and squash hills and clear out weeds and wild grasses.

Monday evening the storm that was predicted finally passed through around 4:30. I sat in the greenhouse reading up on how to grow mushrooms with coffee grounds. Simple enough. The challenge will be about figuring out how to grown a lot of them.

Ali wants chickens on the property. He will need a permit.

Maybe I could suggest getting a beehive or two.
