April 29-The computers are behaving, so I decided to make an entry before I head out to the bus stop.

Thursday evening I learned the bed bug dog sniffed around the detected bed bugs in my apartment. Charles had to treat it first thing Friday morning. Life in the Big City.

Meanwhile, the digging and planting and soil amending continued. I'm up to 24 eggplants, 15 pepper plants, don't know how many tomato plants. More important, I've seed 8 melon hills, amended with manure. I decided to put in water melon seeds. I have to two varieties so far: Moon & Stars, which grows over 20 pounds, and an heirloom strain of Sugar Baby, which can reach 10 pounds. In between are two hills each of Model melon, a Polish honeydew, Charentais, a French heirloom, and Jenny Lind, a green fleshed cantaloupe.

I noticed the first zucchini squash hill has three plants that germinated. I'm working on the third of six hills.

I've dug up more soil on the ledge and sown cucumber seeds.

The Valentine sunflower seeds from Seed Savers Exchange arrived, and I've sown about 9.

I've planted some Zinnia seeds left over from packets I've had since 2015. Hope they germinate.

I've dug up another 6ft trench and seeded Red Cored Chantenay carrot. They have to stay wet, since I didn't cover them, according to directions. More will be sown.

Saturday will be more of the same. I will run out of manure soon.

Old Cadillacs never die. The finance company take 'em and faaaaade 'em away.
