From what I understand, NIAID has been funding the ARS research, so we can't really be too fussy about not getting cash from the government, when it's the government paying for the research.

Also NIAID has not only been funding the research, but has also been joining PSTI at the FDA meetings. So we can't complain about not being handed direct government support there either.

If I had the choice I'd rather get actual support as well as the covering of the funding than just get a cash lump sum.
