Fake news is legitimized as legitimate news agencies piece together information from many sources.

In this day and age of "bots", that's how fake news generated on one person's computer makes it's way around the web. Because so many bots and people start forwarding it, the news develops a life of it's own and crosses over to be assumed it is true.

Bloomberg posts so much news so fast. There is no way they have guys calling about tiny companies to verify confidential information that legally cannot be disclosed.

They just post it.

If ROX wanted to drive the PPS, they would have PR'ed that they hired a M&A firm. The news wouldn't slow product sales even a little bit.
