It looks like it and easy to make that conclusion, but maybe it might have been the regulations that kept him at bay when it was a mining company, and then the lack of MJ approval by the senate and slow reaction by individual states to move on legalizing medical and recreational MJ...

Either a mining company initially or a informational medical MJ provider, the gains would have been enormous, so they were huge gambles playing against medical giants and government giants...so failure is a very real possibility...
