Turning a profit is nice, but it might be best if the company were to break even from quarter to quarter, putting all of it's funds back into R&D, as well as sales/marketing.

Materialise isn't turning a profit because they're throwing their full weight behind sales & marketing of their products and services and R&D efforts. It's why their revenues continue to rise, along with their customer base and shareholder value.

It also seems like they make more money with the manufacturing of parts, compared to their software segment. It won't hurt my feelings to see Sigma join that segment if they desire to do so.
