April 24-The rain, the wind, it lasted all day and into the evening. The thought of taking the bus, then the train, then walking to Lowe's on South Blvd. were easily dismissed. The wind blew steadily from the north, probably up to 25 mph at times. Zone 7b will record anywhere from 4 to 8 inches in some locales. All I could do was sit in the greenhouse with CC the Calico Cat in my lap. At around 1 pm I headed home. Slept. Woke up. Went back to bed. Weather like this totally upsets my routine.
Rain ends Tuesday afternoon. Highs in the 80s return Wednesday. It will be much too wet to do anything truly productive. Maybe I'll go to Lowe's.
Meanwhile, I'm waiting for a seed from Seed Savers Exchange. A packet of Russian pickling cucumbers and a packet Valentine sunflowers, which has its origin in Hungary. It is my favorite.
