The CAFC, while they have made some strong decisions opposing the PTAB on a case by case basis, has shown (historically) an unwillingness to 'rock the boat' or provide opinions that even up the playing field in favor of patent holders - effectively, they have avoided making decisions that alter the current landscape / create new material precedent.
My view is this case will have to go to scotus for even a chance for it to have an impact in that patent world, and by then the CAFC will have ruled on WDDD's case.
Just my opinion, but the CAFC of all courts has not been friendly to patent holders for the past 8-10 years due to the anti patent lobby etc, I don't think Trump and team will impact that in less than 100 days.
Happy to be proven wrong however, and be pleasantly surprised, wait and see as you say, just don't think anyone here should 'expect' actions from the CAFC different from past behavior.
