Well, a 400 mph speed record is no big deal, IF you can get aerodynamic drag to go up as the square of speed .... as Cyclone claimed. Of course, it's actually the cube of speed and that makes all the difference in the world. I suspect someone got confused between a planing boat and a land vehicle 
. It DOES give a hint as to the engineering sophistication of the company and you can only judge all other claims off of that benchmark.
What puzzled me mightily about the whole thing is why they didn't see all those LSR machines with literally thousands of horsepower that were trying for the same sorts of speeds and draw the logical inference that it takes loads of power to go that fast.
What puzzles me even more is why their professional driver didn't point all this out, loudly and repeatedly.
