I own both Masters. like to spread my bets and owned ILMN first.
They both have some brilliant researchers but Ilmn has been around longer and has their big fingers in a lot of pies. Their new sequencer is pretty amazing. And, they are now big enough to just buy out any hot new tech that threatens their dominance.
Genomics isn't the be-all and end-all we thought it would be, and it's turning out to be a whole lot more complex than anticipated. But it's still a pretty big deal. The competition is a good thing and drives the field forward.
