JimLur -- Maddow (who never mentioned that $314 million number) reported, after looking into the question, that the cost to build new MOABs might be around $16 million per unit, which seems pretty reasonable/hardly hyped -- that utterly irreproducible $227,000 inflation-adjusted book or carrying value is neither here nor there
