Well now bar1080 I guess I am one of those "unsophisticated retirees reaching for yield to live on" that you state in your post. And I guess with my portfolio that gains 14 to 15 percent each year I would not consider myself not to unsophisticated. I have three rules to invest with: 1. Buy low,sell high 2. Know when to hold them and know when to fold them 3. Don't listen to people who don't have experience unless they have the portfolio to back up what they say.
