Starting to not see the point for shareholders here..

We hold shares on the ex-divi date.. and get the divi..
(Still not sure if we can sell that day or need to be on record at close)

But that is the day that the stock drops 1.06..

Effectively, it cancels out.. Can someone enlighten me on the benefits here?

Do we just hope the SP corrects back to 3??
