Bigworld, It wasn't realistic to expect Trump to be able to stand in the way of the Deep State for long, assuming he was ever serious about doing that in the first place.

Don't forget that at this stage of the game, that's exactly what the Deep State wants - to impose austerity so they can use that money to continue servicing the massive national debt they created. They want to continue lavishing money on their military-security state apparatus, but any social spending that actually benefits us citizens is destined for the chopping block. The Deep State is using the Tea Party/Libertarian movement to make austerity seem appealing, cloaking it under the guise of 'limited government'.
We're up against an entrenched oligarchy that is way behind schedule and has thrown caution to the wind. Paul Craig Roberts is now convinced that the US Deep State will keep pushing relentlessly into a nuclear war with Russia/China. Between the crazed Neocons and the crazed Trump, how long before the mushroom clouds appear? New Zealand is the answer imo, wish I had the wherewithal to make the move.
