Bull Dolphin, we're thinking alike on keeping the tube for the inspector. I did that with a boron-based compound I had applied to a small section of the sub floor that sits on top of leveling cement.

My inspector is great. He has inspected all my DIY remodels including the new kitchen. I'm always straight up with him and he knows I won't take try to hide anything from him.
