April 8-The guys hogged the computers last night, so I went to bed.

Saturday morning when I entered the greenhouse, several eggplant and pepper seedlings had flopped over. When I got back from Miz Li's store on Dalton around 11 all of them had straightened up. Most likely this will happen again Sunday morning.

I brought 12 newspaper cups from home and seeded 8 Genovese basil seeds and 4 asparagus seeds in the salad containers. The first basil seeds that germinated are showing the first signs of true leaves.

I resumed planting in the raised bed. I'm out of Pink Beauty radish seeds. All that's left are the spinach and pelleted carrot seeds. Frankly I'm disappointed in both. I will scratch the carrots and just by more seed from Lowe's or Home Depot. There is still plenty of time for carrot and spinach production.

The lumber Snapper at the glass shop sawed up got some attention. I nailed together three 40x17 boxes. Still a long way from completing the first row of boxes stacked three high.

I started on watermelon hill #12. It will be finished Sunday. Then I can return to replacing the timbers Rico dug up. That project will continue for the next few months.

The soil is still too cold for cukes and squash. 16 days remain until the 24th, the day of the last known frost. Even by that date the soil can still be cool. April in Zone 7b is a finicky month.

Old Cadillacs never die. The finance company take 'em and faaaaade 'em away.
