According to the video, 100% of her tumor was removed by Dr. Liau.

After 18 months from randomization in the trial (approx 3 months after surgery - so 21 months) - her tumor returned. So now she has recurrent GBM. We'll have to see what happens now. Certainly I hope her immune system is able to beat it. Or that some sort of approval is in the offing that can allow them to make another vaccine from the tumor that's returned.

What we know is that over 98 patients are still alive. But that means around 2/3s aren't. Because we aren't privy to the data, we don't know how many of those 98 patients are the last to enroll, but it seems evident that DCVax buys more time, and for some, like Jamil Newirth, it may be a cure. I think we all know this is not a cure for everyone. Hence, the initiation of the combo trial with Opdivo. I think the hope is that the combo will buy even more time or even cure those patients for which DCVax didn't act as a cure.
