Yes analysts predict SP, but they don't predict science because most don't know anything about it.

Analysts are Monday morning quarterbacks. Here's what they do. They set a target price. If the quarter result is above expectation, they raise the target price and recommend you to buy. If the quarter result is below expectation, they lower the target price and recommend you to hold/sell.

No sh*t.
