I'll leave it to you to personally decide whether they are a wild bunch of unruly crack pot scientists, or whether they do detailed research for their White Papers.

Speaking of which, the FAS claims in one of their White Papers titled: Simulated US&Chinese Nuclear Strikes, land based ICBMs of both countries would have no problem reaching the other.

There's only one hitch... over flight of the North Pole, means over flight of Russia. Triggering a nuclear alert of Russian Nuke forces. How would the Russians react to nukes in the air over their territory? The US has apparently decided so as to get around this problem, with heavy reliance on the SLBM or subs. And they confirm what I previously said - a US Ohio class sub carrying Trident missiles, undetectable somewhere in the mid Pacific would have no problem hitting any target in China.

Therefore the claims China could hit us, and we have no way to retaliate has no validity.

The Trumpster can stand up, and wave his pygmy hands all he wants to about needing to modernize the US nuclear deterrent. But that evil Obama, and past Congresses have already provided funding to develop the next generation of systems, while ensuring current systems work.
By the time he leaves office he might be able to take credit for the refitting of of the Missile Man III with the decommissioned "Peace Keeper" Mk21 re-entry warheads. Again, already underway, courtesy of his predecessor. The Trumpster likes to take credit for things he knew nothing about. Unfortunately the Ohio replacement or Columbia sub will be entering service long after the Trumpster is gone into the after world. Maybe Ivanka his daughter/wife will still be around to take credit for him?
