I believe the below info is at least a year old...I think it's a pretty good time frame to find out something...and we haven't heard a whisper...and note that brandtner received EU funding so I think the EU sees something in the technology ...I remember waggs saying a diabetes clinical could start on 2017...could clinical start in Europe if EU gets positive results for their investment? It would be nice if waggs could give us a big fat juicy pr about any advancement of diabetes program....

"With this ambitious goal, a team of researchers from all over the world is currently working on a unique project. It is managed by the Vorarlberg scientist Dr. Eva Maria (Lilli) Brandtner from the molecular biology laboratory VIVIT in Dornbirn. Together, attempts are being made to transplant insulin-producing cells against an immune attack, which would make it possible to cure type 1 diabetics who have no intact insulin-producing cells themselves and are therefore reliant on insulin injections several times a day. Brandtner will give exclusive insights into the EU-funded project at the "Long Night of Research" on 22 April."
