March 23-Another cold morning. Some of the Cherokee Purple tomato plants in the greenhouse were a little droopy. I knew they would recover later in the morning when the air inside warmed to above 80.

I carried 10 new plants on the bus. I'm hoping what I've seed indoors in the past three days will show good germination rates. Frankly, I'm disappointed this year in the germination rate. I may switch back to Jiffy pellets at 10cents a piece. When you're talking 300 to 400 plants that amounts to an expense.

I decided to take the 11K to Wal Mart for a UBS plug in wire for my digital camera. The clerk in the electronics section said not all the stuff in stock is right size for my camera. And since I forgot to bring it that means another bus ride.

The afternoon started to warm, finally, and I broke out the tiller. The soil in this raised bed is in better condition. The tines ate through that loose soil like slicing butter.

I managed to set out another 18 lettuce plants. These are much farther along compared to the ones I transplanted in February. Will they still be viable now that the weather is warming?

Back home, I planted some more Cherokee Purple seeds in newspaper cups. Tomorrow morning I will make more cups, a lot more cups, and hopefully plant out the packet.

Black Vernissange tomatoes are curious looking.

Old Cadillacs never die. The finance company take 'em and faaaaade 'em away.
