Many of these quack health food / vitamin companies are based in Utah so every politician from there, like Senator Orrin Hatch, is bought by these people.

These are the people behind Trump's proposal for expedited FDA approval of therapies without proof of effectiveness.

None of the real pharmaceutical companies back this idea because insurance companies will not pay for drugs with no proven effectiveness. If they receive approval before effectiveness is proved, it starts the clock on their 16 year patent life - so they may be 7 or 8 years in by the time they prove a drug is effective, cutting their period of profitability by 50%.

But a quack company like Nu-Skin would be able to market Blah Blah Tonic without proof of efficacy but with FDA approval. Their customers pay out of pocket for their horseshit products so they're not worried about non-payment by health insurers.

Trump and everyone associated with him are nothing but bullshitters and fraudsters with no government or business experience. They and their supporters are all angling to use the Presidency to seal business deals with China and Russia.
