Link #1 details what Na-Nose can be used for. For one, It will have the ability to distinguish between Virus and Bacterial infections. Not many technologies can do this. And it is going to be more important in the future.
Link#2 is an interesting article on what awaits us in the near futures (likely in our lifetime). It would be a significant development if Na-nose could be pressed into service to help in diagnosis and help with prescription of the appropriate medications. It will reduce usage and wastage of what antibiotics we have at our disposal. Maybe allow us to mitigate the growing resistance to medications that we are experiencing now.
