Earnings fell off the cliff! The news was likely either leaked or anticipated just before that date... but confirmed in the middle of the "fall". Some downgrades last summer predicted it and then a month after the oversell-off the first upgrade reversal came on Oct. 19. By then it was down in 2016 from around 23 to 8.61 so trend reversal was inorder. It took a little time to take the small refiners down with the giant giveaway to big oil that was the repeal of the export ban, but it was inevitable. I am hanging on to the idea that the change in the administration will benefit us with Icahn having the ear of the president.
