March 14-It only became more windy as the day progressed on its way to a 20 degree overnight low. This morning's Charlotte Observer ran a front page story about the South Carolina peach and strawberry crop. Strawberry plants can be covered, but peach trees are naked to the elements. The freeze most likely will destroy upwards to 90 percent of this season's production.

CC the Calico Cat has returned to her previous personality. She is more active and inquisitive, not to mention mischievous. She hopped onto my lap while I was napping in the lounge chair next to the wall. She used to dominate Sissy Boy, the wimped out tomcat, but as he grew to maturity and one half more her size he started to bully his mama. He never harmed her, but he let her know he was the dominant cat.

The lettuce plants in the bed will let me know tomorrow morning how they fared. I have trays of starts in greenhouse waiting for transplant.

Old Cadillacs never die. The finance company take 'em and faaaaade 'em away.
