Thanks Bull....that is the reason I responded as my builder will do whatever I want (I hope). I am going to have a backup generator (propane powered) that would alleviate any power failure problems. The technology that I am looking at allows me to open the door with different codes and times say for a housekeeper that comes in for 2 hours a week. The door technology will also let me know at what time my kids come home and go out.

I do get your advice that the technology is changing all the time....it is amazing and sometimes mind boggling atleast for me.
