RE:long as usual....
Scarcity is an economic law of the universe. Like the speed of light, or even more immutable, newton's 2nd law of thermodynamics. Pitted against this is the concept of the time value of money. This concept will always lose the contest. The time value of money exists, but it is subject to change and always has been subject to change. In the middle ages, usury was illegal from the perspective of the European sovereign. The sovereign officials said the time value of money was a big fat zero and they outlawed interest. I wonder what the underground black market price was?

Now, today of course there are various figures that people use; Warren Buffet, as I have posted, uses some thing well under 4%. I am more inclined to use his figure than the general mining finance figure of over double his figure. Who is smarter, the world's greatest investor over 4 decades, or the dow jones average? He has outperformed by perhaps 50 fold. His number gets my vote. This is in keeping with the last decade.

His figure in large part appears based on the confidence western sovereign state's assign to their own fix instruments available to the public. These states can be off dramatically in handling their own money. Truthfully, they cannot even balance their own checkbooks and corruption is actually the state of the State. 8% is a concept over time that needs revision under any circumstances. Things change. I also happen to think there is an institutional bias against honest businesses by the financial industry, which is self serving and corrupt. Not a little corrupt.

The 8% no doubt on earth puts vast sums in the pockets of the financial industry, a largely unnecessary industry preying on the wealth building of other, true industries. We all know this. Don't ask don't tell, lol

Scarcity on the other hand, is honest and eternal. What we own is right there in the ground, and it is the highest grade in the world of its kind, and will be desperately needed by almost every person on the planet, fairly soon.
