No one's replied about "spread friction." How do frequent traders deal with that very real cost. I'm not a trader so I don't know the full answer. I do know that newbies know almost nothing about how that affects trading. But it must be a negative: A tiny cost that adds up with each trade. In the end, unsurmountable!

Yes, tons of people trade stocks; tons of people play slot machines.
