About 3 weeks ago, a company spokesperson messaged me they have two test-bed 757s aircraft that they plan to have flying in about 6 weeks, (that was 3 weeks ago) and that they expect the FAA to approve their STC (supplemental type certificate) for installation of the equipment on those two aircraft in about 180 days. Following that they plan on filing for and acquiring STCs for other popular aircraft.
I know that once you get an STC approved for one aircraft type, generally the rest come easy since it's proven itself to be a safe installation etc. An STC is required for anything anybody wants to add to an aircraft that it didn't come equipped with already for from the factory which can be anything from a simple a map holder, to something like another engine mount or different or additional flaps.
