That's true about the gps. However, my droid didn't come with a gps app or capability as verizon wants to charge me extra for a free government service offered to the country. There's another fairly deep hidden service on all phones called something like lsa or location service that is NOT associated directly with a gps function. I downloaded an gps app called 'herewego' that's so far has been better than my 150.00 2 year old garmin.

If you go to 'settings', in there somewhere will be a line that says 'can not be disabled'.

Garmin even wants me to pay to download parts of canada, while 'herewego' downloaded it for free. Got to wonder how Garmin is competing with that.
