May want to review every app on your phone for not only is it always on when it doesn't need to be, thus using resources, AND data mileage, almost every app is set by default to auto update and can reserve some storage for itself. EVERY app does this. They are computer programs and todays programs will attempt to reserve space in storage and ram for it to run. If it's set on auto update, then it's using storage and data it doesn't need to do.
Realistically, NOTHING needs to be auto updated and run in the background. Most of this is also to track you. Anyone with android and google are walking beacons. Goog even makes it difficult to shut this down.
Like the 'location' feature that one part must stay on and can't be user shut off. It's a tracker beacon. Is this by law? Or is it goog. Who must I stay visible to and why?
