Since the election, 3,600 Trump-branded products have been dropped from online stores

Since the presidential election, retailers that are being targeted by an anti-Trump boycott have dropped 3,600 Trump-branded products.

That represents a 61% drop in products since November 23.

The data is according to Shannon Coulter, a brand strategist who co-founded the #GrabYourWallet campaign in October.

The movement has called on consumers to boycott retailers that sell Trump-branded products.

Earlier this month, Nordstrom, which was a target of the campaign, dropped Ivanka Trump's line of women's clothing, shoes, and handbags, citing poor sales.

"Each year we cut about 10% [of brands carried] and refresh our assortment with about the same amount," Nordstrom told Business Insider. "In this case, based on the brand's performance we've decided not to buy it for this season."

Neiman Marcus and Belk also stopped selling Ivanka Trump's products online. Sears' and Kmarts' websites stopped selling products from the Trump Home line.

At the start of the movement, Coulter made a list of the companies selling Trump products and contacted companies letting them know how to get off the list. So far, 19 companies have been removed from her list.

"I did expect it to succeed," Coulter told Business Insider. "I saw such a strong and spirited response to even my very first musings about it."



Coulter's data doesn't include Trump items that are sold at brick-and-mortar stores. A number of retailers, including Burlington Coat Factory, Marshalls, and Saks off Fifth, have removed Trump products online but still sell them in stores.

A Brief History of the #GrabYourWallet Movement

The #GrabYourWallet boycott began October 11, 2016 in the wake of the Trump Tapes when a brand strategist and a grandmother simultaneously realized they could no longer in good conscience shop at retailers that do business with the Trump family. Never having met, Shannon Coulter and Sue Atencio joined forces and announced on Twitter they'd be boycotting any retailer that carried Trump products, with the goal of motivating those companies on the list to stop doing business with the Trump family. They published a short list of such retailers later that same evening and on October 14th, Shannon introduced the #GrabYourWallet hashtag -- both as a response to Donald Trump's infamous hot mic remark and a reference to women's epic consumer power. The hashtag and the movement exploded on social media and has been viewed over 700 million times. Since then, the #GrabYourWallet boycott has grown into a movement and central resource for the flexing of consumer power in favor of a more respectful and inclusive society. It's been reported on by The New York Times, Vogue, Washington Post, The Guardian, Cosmopolitan, CNN, MSNBC, Nightline, and BBC among many other media outlets (see below). About The #GrabYourWallet List

Since its first humble incarnation as a screenshot on October 11th, the #GrabYourWallet boycott list has grown as a central resource for understanding how our own consumer purchases may have inadvertently supported the political rise of the Trump family. On November 23rd, the official #GrabYourWallet boycott list moved from a public Google doc to grabyourwallet.org. A small GYW team carefully monitors the inventory of the companies on the list such as Amazon, Nordstrom, and Lord & Taylor and immediately drops companies from the boycott list once it's been verified that official Trump products are no longer available -- either online or in brick and mortar locations.
To date, over 15 companies have been dropped from the #GrabYourWallet list including Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Neiman Marcus, Jet, Uber, and Kawasaki. To see this information, visit the "Which Companies Have Been Dropped" section of the site.
