Well, it's just idle speculation on a Friday on my part, but my "Spidy-Sense" is activated.

Gingrich is a politician, and understands all of politics is theater basically. So why launch a campaign on February 21 calling on the president to address the opioid crisis (and in particular mention the parity laws and lifting the prescription cap on vivitrol and probuphine), and have the deadline for support messages be February 28, the date the President is addressing both houses of Congress in a prime time speech? I mean, it somehow has to be tied to the speech. Otherwise, give yourself more time to get more votes/clicks or whatever. Because if the President, who Gingrich supports, doesn't say anything about opioids, then basically Gingrich looks like a fool and shows he has no pull with the President.

If, on the other hand, he already knows the President is going to mention those things in his speech, then its a smart move to "launch a campaign" to get something he already knows is coming.
