LPI set up some test evaporation ponds in Maricunga last October. The evaporation ponds were in operation through December and easily took our initial brine samples to an increase in concentration of 5 times from 1,260mg/l lithium to over 6,300mg/l lithium. Click Here for LPI report

This may not sound like such big news to you, but it is big news. These simple ponds require water which all lithium miners regard as incredibly precious. We are grandfathered in to use the natural occurring water found in Maricunga and our engineers will inevitably be proving that we are not "destroying" water in Maricunga by efficiently recycling it back into the ecosystem during our mining operations.
