That's exactly my point - it doesn't make financial sense. Originally, I thought Ascolese did it to show shareholders he was putting skin in the game to convince them to approve the sale to Langley. If so, it worked. But if he did nothing - simply took the cash bonus - he could have shown up on the Insider Buying lists and made the same point.
