That's a serious tax because it's not based on the selling price.

Walmart often has 2 liter Coke for $1. In that case, the tax at 1.5 cents per ounce is more than what the product costs. So, yes I believe a tax like that would definitely cause a serious drop in sales and loss of jobs as a result.
