It is very much like Russia telling us to get out of Cuba, in that both maintain a long term lease of the port facilities. The similarities stop there, however...Russia fought wars prior to formation of the USSR to establish a warm water port in the Crimea. The Ukraine and the Crimea, have been a part of Russia for centuries. The break up of the USSR does nothing to negate Russia's claims on what has historically been a part of Russia. An appropriate reversal of perspective would be if Russians began questioning the USA's "occupation" of Puerto Rico...or the Hawaiian Islands. S~P
