I've seen people make those hot boxes that work well for exactly what you are talking about.

Eddie posted a link to them on here other day.

Now if you already planted and you see freeze coming you could always do a plastic covering and place some straw also down around your starts.

Here is how I see it ..............

If we followed every rule in the garden what fun would that be?

If you lose plants it's not like losing a car driving in the snow the seeds are cheap.

Every year I plant things that can be food or chicken food but they are also for fun or to freak out my neighbors.

Plant those 18 foot high sun flowers or corn.

That will do it!

Plus when kids walk down my street I can hear them say mommy why aren't ours that high.
What a PITA I AM!

See there? Ya got to have some fun no matter how sick it is.

Plus afterwards my chickens love the seeds and extra corn.
