I think the capability to charge from 15 feet is there. The chips being developed with Dialog are supposed to be able to charge directly or from a distance, so when the charging stations are FCC approved and available you won't have to buy a new phone, the iPnone will have the ability to charge from a distance. At least that is my understanding. I think I read they hope to have FCC approval by the end of this year, but that may be optimistic.
