Those partners include Allscripts, Aventura, Caradigm, Epic, HealthCast Solutions, HID Global, IBM, KSI Keyboards, Microsoft, and Oracle – all comprising “the single largest gathering of our healthcare partners and customers,” said BIO-key CEO Mike DePasquale in a statement. DePasquale also pointed to a rising interest in biometric solutions among healthcare companies, stating, “The market is starting to understand the value of biometric technology, as use cases continue to increase.”
That’s good news for BIO-key, which offers a range of software and hardware solutions, including USB fingerprint scanners that are designed for compatibility with Windows Hello security software, the ID Director authentication system for EHR platforms (like Epic and Allscripts), and more. The company also established a partnership with federal Credential Services Provider HealthIDx early last year, helping to bring its biometric solutions to ePrescriptions.
Now, HIMSS 2017 presents another opportunity for BIO-key to further extend its presence in the healthcare market, with the help of its attending partners. “We look at this event as a way to strengthen existing relationships while developing new strategic ones in the process,” DePasquale said.
