It's a good complementary opportunity, allows them to go after the server DRAM market that they don't currently play in.

Heck, Intel seems to be betting a large part of its 4-5 year DCG growth rate on 3D XPoint.

I did think the DCG presentation was light on competitive analysis, though... There are going to be a lot of companies trying to take share from Intel in servers, and while Diane Bryant said that the forecast takes into account some degree of competition, I'd have liked to have her talk more about her assumptions regarding competition so that outsiders could get a sense of how "reasonable" the assumptions baked in with respect to competition are.
