However, as an "investor," you often have insight into certain dark corners of the market. SHLD and the broader retail sector, for instance.

Also, the 2007 crisis. Some headlines claim it couldn't be predicted but obviously since people did predict it that is fake news.

I remember warning people about it and they didn't listen. Their loss.
