Primary Stroke Center Certification, germane to Ekso, why it matters

First look at this:

https://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/Professional/HospitalAccreditationCertification/PrimaryStrokeCenterCertification/Primary-Stroke-Center-Certification_UCM_439155_SubHomePage.jsp

it seems as if buying an Ekso GT would be well suited to fulfilling these guidelines.

I also noticed that on march 16, 2013 the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) - U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on facebook said:

"The Advanced Primary Stroke Center at the @Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center has recently been recertified for two years by the Joint Commission. This means that Veterans will receive care that equals or exceeds the recommendations for primary stroke centers published by the Brain Attack Coalition and the American Stroke Association. "

this is particularly important because this particular VA center does a lot of research:

"Supported with more than $26.8 million annually, research conducted by staff at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center ensures Veterans access to cutting-edge medical and health care technology. With 615 active research projects, the MEDVAMC Research & Development (R&D) Program is an integral part of the medical centers mission and plays a very important role in the health care Veterans receive. The production of new knowledge, techniques, and products has improved prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and control of the many diseases faced by the Veterans."

...

"Established in 1990 to systematically examine the impact of the organization, management, and financing of health care services on the delivery, quality, cost, utilization, and outcomes of this care."

also important is the fact this center uses EKSO devices:

Ekso Bionics also sent out an email on 6/30/16 where they mention these specific standards set by the AHA/ASA:

"The American Heart Association and the American Stroke Associate recently released guidelines on stroke rehabilitation and recovery. In the past, guidelines have focused on immediate medical care after stroke whereas these new guidelines provide guidance on ongoing rehabilitation which can greatly improve a stroke survivors' quality of life.

Additionally, with 800,000 people a year affected by stroke, these new guidelines provide clinicians with information on the most effective way to manage the resulting deficits.

The guidelines highlight the importance of early, daily, intense mobility task training, such as walking or stairs, to improve the patient’s functional abilities. Regardless of the setting in which you work, therapists can incorporate these findings by providing an activity based therapy approach in which tasks can be made progressively more challenging."
